The Greenbix PDC system operates based on the principle of displacement ventilation, delivering energy-efficient and comfortable cooling for indoor environments. Conditioned air first passes through the PDC coil, where it is cooled and dehumidified before being supplied near the floor level through the supply air duct. Because cool air is denser, it naturally spreads across the floor and gradually rises as it absorbs heat from occupants, lights, and equipment. As the air warms, it becomes lighter and rises toward the ceiling, creating a natural stratification where the lower occupied zone remains comfortably cool while warmer air accumulates above. The warm air is then extracted through the return air grilles and directed back to the PDC unit, where heat and moisture are once again removed. Condensate collected from this process is drained through the system’s condensate pan, ensuring continuous operation.

This process offers several advantages: it enhances energy efficiency by reducing the need for high fan power, improves indoor air quality by carrying heat and pollutants upward and away from occupants, and provides better thermal comfort by maintaining a stable, cool environment in the occupied zone. Additionally, the PDC coil’s passive dehumidification capability ensures effective humidity control, preventing mold growth and enhancing overall indoor comfort.
